About Me

Today, as a new chapter begins, I created another blog where I will post all of the things that I want to share (fashion-related or not) to express myself and to reach my goal of influencing the readers on what I think is good in the best possible way and touch the heart of the readers who can relate or even those who cannot to my blog posts. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates. Wishing you the best year. Happy New Year!

In the Middle of a Storm

We are all facing a pan-human challenge, an unprecendented crisis which brought us to what we are feeling and doing right now.

It’s only been a few months and this pandemic made me realize a lot of things already.

  • Everyday is different.

Yesterday can be the happiest day of your life but tomorrow, it might be the worst and that is the reality. We tend to ignore a lot of salient things and let it pass because we always think that there is still tomorrow and it might be the perfect time. This is common when it comes to the topic ‘Expressing love to your loved ones’. We reason out that we always get to see them most of the time, especially our family, and the most common ‘They already know that I love them‘ excuse. We tend to overlook these things because we think we have the assurance of tomorrow, but the crisis that we face proved this thinking wrong.

  • Difficult times reveal true colors.

Tough times test everyone’s character. These are the times when we can see who truly cares, who are compassionate, empathetic and the opposite. You will see who will stick through no matter how hard the situation is, those who will guide you, and those who will just leave because they can’t stand you anymore.

  • “We are in the same storm, but not in the same boat.” – Anonymous

I stumbled upon this Facebook post by The Simplicity Habit and this quotation is relevant to the situation we are in right now. This pandemic is the storm that we deal with but our secondary problems, our resources, coping capabilities are all different. Some are thinking about what will happen on their well-planned birthday party but some are thinking about their food or where will they get money to buy food for the next day. Some people think that this is the perfect time to be productive and to reconnect with others but some people are not mentally stable. Our common enemy is the virus, but thinking that we have the same coping mechanisms, that we have to do the same, that we need to just follow and spread positivity only, shows that there are people who only think of some but not all.

Let us be aware and mindful.

COVID-19 left its mark globally, not only in the health sector, but also in politics, economics, environmental, and socio-cultural aspect.

This crisis taught me that today is as important as tomorrow or maybe, today is more important because we still have the power to know and control things, unlike tomorrow when no one knows what it holds.

Remember, there is no perfect time for anything. There is only now.

ROM Around: Improve Fashion Sense

II

I started this ROM Around blog to give people a view of my journey in fashion.

On the previous blog post, I tackled about exploring different styles to improve fashion sense. After trying the vintage look, I also tried the grunge streetwear look with a bit of an Instagram (IG) girl vibes – swipe

Improve Fashion Sense

  1. Explore different fashion styles.
  2. Play and style your accessories.

Accessories play a big role in fashion. It can spice up even your most basic outfit or make it worse.

While hoop earrings are still on trend and can make you feel like a woman with a strong attitude, then you can never go wrong with a pair of it or two pairs to feel extra (like what I did).

This 88 hoop earrings made me feel like a different woman – more confident and a woman with a strong personality.

Aside from earrings, necklace can be a statement fashion piece too. For this look, I think a choker necklace would be good too but instead of putting it, I let the hoop earrings be the statement piece and I just added a belt bag (from Shopee) with chain details.

Accessories matter in fashion. It can totally change your whole outfit. Accessories can make your look better or worse so it is a must to learn how to accessorize too in order to improve your fashion sense.

ROM Around: Improve Fashion Sense

I

I started this ROM Around blog to give people a view of my journey in fashion.

These past few years, I find myself getting lazier each year to dress up in a stylish way. Also, I am becoming more and more conscious of how the society will judge me based on my fashion sense. Aside from that, I feel a bit awkward wearing skirts, dresses, tank tops and such now unlike before.

This month, I have decided to break all of these awkwardness, laziness and how I always think of how other people would react on my style since I am not doing it for them anyway.

I will try to get out of my comfort zone, look for clothes on my closet, learn and try different styles and improve my fashion sense.

Improving Fashion Sense

  1. Explore different fashion styles.

Do not miss out the adventure! Be bold and try even your most hated fashion piece in your closet. Be imaginative and creative.

The first thing that I really want to try is vintage outfit and since it is already summer, I want to use fashion pieces that are also appropriate for this kind of weather while still incorporating that vintage vibes.

Mustard plaid dress from Shopee. Scarf from a bag (yes haha). Pearl earrings from michael hill. Silver necklace from Lovisa.

Before I came up with this look, I tried looking for outfit inspiration on Pinterest.

Making the Most Out of Your Vacation (Before Second Semester of College)

Another year means another semester to deal with for college students. Since it is already January, some students are a week or month away from going through the second semester. Now, how will you make the most out of your remaining vacation days?

Go for a one-day or one-week travel

If you have enough money to travel for a day or even for a week then do it and choose a location where you think you can relax and enjoy at the same time without sacrificing your budget. Make sure to have a checklist on the activities you are planning to do so that you can be productive and you can make the most out of your vacation. You can travel alone, with your family, or with your barkada!

Spend your days with your loved ones

Whether it is your mom, dad, bestfriend, girlfriend or boyfriend, make sure to have fun with them before the second semester officially starts. Have a lunch date, go for a shopping, visit a museum, watch some movies, go to an amusement park or play one-on-one basketball at an arcade. Anything will do as long as you are all happy together. Get away with the school-related and work-related stuff for a while and keep in mind that you are on vacation mode.

Play with your paw friends

If there is someone who can bring out the cute childlike personality of yours without judging you, they are definitely your pets! Play with your fur babies and make them feel your love for them. Later on, you will notice that you are in a bliss and you were able to de-stress as well.

Throw a movie party at home

Cinemas tend to get crowded during the holiday season and sometimes you do not want to spend hundreds to watch a movie. Call your barkada and host a movie party at home. Use your Netflix or your iflix account and you will not be limited to just one movie. Buy some chips or popcorn and cook a pasta or the famous pancit canton so that you can have something to eat while watching.

Spend your vacation with the people you love or even just by yourself, as long as the things you have done during the vacation were enough to make you feel happy and positive before switching on the college mode again. Make the most of your vacation before you finally go back to your dormitory, spend every night studying lessons and continue fighting for your dreams.

Any plans and suggestions to make the most of your vacation? Share it on the comment box.

New Year’s Day Outfit

New year means new beginning and another year to exhibit your personality and creativity through your outfits.

Although, classic blue is the color for the year 2020, I went for a rust overlap peplum top that I bought from an online shop called Shopee for I feel that this top brings a strong personality to anyone who will wear this very madam-looking piece. Yes, I want to start this year with a strong personality (not too much).

I partnered it with a simple denim blue skinny jeans from Bench since the top has already loose details (sleeves and half bottom part) and I want a fitted bottoms in contrary.

To top it off, I wore a classic gold watch (Casio) and a simple (comfy and convenient) sling bag from Secosana. Ponytail and waves added extra personality to the look I went for.

Remember, it is not about the fashion pieces, it is about how you add personality to your style.
